Since 2010, MathProject has been fostering creative, out-of-the-box thinking by preparing students to excel in math contests. Over the years, we’ve evolved into a dynamic program, meeting a variety of K-12 math education needs. But let’s be real—the heart of our program still beats strongest for those thrilling math contests that can open doors to top university programs.🏆

Kangaroo Math Contest
Registration for the 2027 contest may open early December 2026. Please continue to check their website.
Contest Date: To be announced; the contest is likely in March 2027
Open to all grades but recommended for Grade 9 – 12
Canadian Open Math Challenge (COMC)
COMC is the most prestigious high-school level math contest. Top ~50 students have the opportunity to participate in the Canadian Math Olympiad (CMO)
Grade 9 – 10 students who score well but do not qualify for CMO can participate in the Canadian Junior Math Olympiad (CJMO) by invitation only.
Note: The results of CMO constitute one of the main qualifiers for making the Math Team Canada representing Canada on the international stage at the International Math Olympiad.
Schools will register their students to participate in COMC. Contact your school for more info on registration.

Gauss Contest (CEMC)

Canadian Intermediate Math Contest (CIMC)
Canadian Senior Math Contest (CSMC)
Students who score well on the CSMC may be more likely to be accepted into UWaterloo’s math program
