MathProject’s vision is to promote out-of-the-box thinking and create problem solvers of tomorrow. We believe that math is a life skill that nurtures characteristics like critical thinking, reasoning, and math problem solving.
MathProject offers your child an opportunity to strengthen their math knowledge through online, interactive, live video sessions with our qualified team of tutors. Through an innovative web-based platform, we are always here to help your child achieve excellence in mathematics.
MathProject: Our Mission
The three-fold mission of MathProject is to:
- Eradicate fear of math within a child;
- Boost a child’s motivation and mastery of math; and
- Through math, empower the child with life skills, such as, critical thinking, striving for excellence, reasoning & problem-solving
OUR STORY
MathProject started as a math literacy program for school-going children of the Greater Toronto Area. In 2010, as soon as the founder Shehreen Zaman reached the milestone of obtaining the Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation, she founded MathProject with the intention to give back the gift of education that had empowered her up to that point. Moreover, her motivation was to promote “out of the box” thinking among children by preparing them for international math contests.

OUR TEAM
Shehreen
Principal
A passionate educator, associate actuary, and a social entrepreneur, who is dedicated to sharing the gift of learning with others through her educational institutes and non-profit ventures. Shehreen believes math is an important life skill that every child should be equipped with to become a problem solver of tomorrow. She is a lecturer at University of Toronto in the department of statistics and actuarial sciences. Lastly, besides work, she enjoys philosophy, loves travelling, and spending time with family.
Karuna
Administration
Karuna is a student at the Ivey Business School in London, Ontario, pursuing an MSc in Management, focusing on International Business. She is a business professional with over two years of experience in consulting, marketing, and sales and really enjoys solving her client’s and customers problems. At MathProject, Karuna takes care of all the administrative tasks related to the Peel classes to ensure smooth and streamlined operations. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and spending time with her dogs.
Leanne
Human Resources
A seasoned HR consultant with 5+ years of experience within the education management industry. Leanne’s mission is to empower students to reach their potential, while ensuring recruited teachers can mentor them toward their dreams. Outside of work, you can catch her traveling the world, and learning new recipes as an avid foodie.
